Tecumseh Products Company Announces Expected Second Quarter Results
PRNewswire
TECUMSEH, Mich.
Jun 25, 2001
Tecumseh Products Company (NASDAQ: TECUA)(NASDAQ: TECUB) today announced that it expects its earnings per share for the second quarter ending June 30, 2001 to be in a range of $0.85 to $.95 per share. Earlier Company estimates of second quarter earnings had been in the range of $1.00 to $1.10 per share.
Weak retail sales of lawn and garden products in the first half of this year have resulted in a greater than expected decline in overall demand for the Company's engine and transmission products. This lower level of sales is now projected to result in a small loss for the Engine & Power Train segment in the second quarter.
Second quarter sales and earnings of the Company's Compressor segment are expected to be well below those of the second quarter of 2000, but generally at previously forecasted levels.
Tecumseh Products Company will host a conference call to report on actual second quarter results on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. ET. The call will be broadcast live over the Internet and then available for replay through Tecumseh Products Company's website at http://www.tecumseh.com/ .
