Tecumseh Products Company Selects Technology Research Corporation's Fire Shieldâ„¢ Technology

Tecumseh Products Company (NASDAQ: TECUA)(NASDAQ: TECUB) today announced that as a result of a joint development effort with Technology Research Corporation (TRC) (NASDAQ: TRCI), it has signed a cross license agreement for technology that provides for the improved protection of "Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems" against electrical faults.
Kent B. Herrick, Vice President of Tecumseh, said, "TRC was selected due to its advanced design capability in the prevention of fires through the use of its Fire Shield Technology." He added, "We are excited about the combination of Tecumseh's proprietary technology relating to the protection of refrigeration compressors with TRC's proprietary Fire Shield technology which will bring an advanced level of protection to refrigeration and air conditioning systems worldwide."
Raymond H. Legatti, President of Technology Research Corporation, said, "We are pleased that Tecumseh selected Fire Shield to be integrated with their proprietary technology." Legatti added, "Our Fire Shield technology is also being marketed by TRC for cord fire protection on single-phase cord-and-plug- connected room air conditioners manufactured after January 2004, as required by the National Electrical Code."
The licensed product is targeted at 15 to 20 million refrigeration and air conditioning systems sold worldwide each year.
